First jewel in horse racing's triple crown always brings out most unusual hats.
(CBS) - Like last week's royal wedding, the Kentucky Derby on Saturday will be sure to draw out attention-grabbing headpieces from its attendees.
Hats of all kinds, from the elegant to the ridiculous, have become a trademark at the annual event held at Churchill Downs in Louisville.

New York-based milliner Christine Moore tells CBSNews.com''s Karina Mitchell that the quintessential Kentucky Derby hat is a "very feminine, southern bell type of look" in colors like pink and coral with a broad brim.
Moore, who has designed many Derby hats, adds that the type of hats that make the wrong statement are usually poorly fitted or worn incorrectly, on the back of the head.
Along with all the hats, the Kentucky Derby is expected to attract dozens of celebs, including Miranda Lambert, Kate Gosselin, the Jonas Brothers, and Marissa Miller, who will all reportedly attend Friday's Barnstable Brown Party, which is considered the biggest Derby eve gathering.
