Aww, Short: A Scandal for real.

It looks like Papa Pope actually did take out Harrison Wright in the Season 3 finale of Scandal. ABC star Columbus Short will not be returning to the hit drama for Season 4.
Short, 31, released a statement to Us Weekly about his decision to exit the White House-based series.
“At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I’ve called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today," Short says in his statement. "I would like to first thank [creator] Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast. Thank you GLADIATORS, who have supported me throughout my entire career and of course to ABC and Shondaland for allowing me to play such a pivotal role in the Scandal series. I have enjoyed every single minute of it. Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas. I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. For this, I will forever be grateful.”
After Henry Ian Cusick (who played Pope and Associates' Stephen Finch) exited the show in Season 1, Harrison became a right-hand man to Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington), helping run her business while she was "fixing" some of the White House's biggest problems.
Despite his dangerous dalliance with terrorist Adnan Salif, his character seemed to be in good standing until he crossed paths with Olivia's father Rowan Pope in the April 17 finale, but off-screen, Short's antics were cause for concern.
In late March, the actor was arrested on a felony battery charge after a restaurant brawl. The charge could result in up to four years in prison if convicted. And on Valentine's Day Short was charged with misdemeanor spousal battery and ordered to stay away from wife Tuere Short. They are currently in the middle of a heated divorce.
Tell Us: Will you miss Harrison on Scandal?

What Were They Thinking?! Yes or Naw!

Eva Marcille May Have Issued A Restraining Order Against Kevin McCall, But She Refuses To Stay Away

Things may look amazing from the outside, but you never know the pain and violence that goes on behind closed doors.
It’s being reported that model and actress, Eva Marcille had to take out a restraining order on the father of her child, Kevin McCall recently. TMZ reported that Marcille took out the order after McCall kicked down several doors in her home and snatched their two-month-old baby, Marley from her arms, threatening to punch her. It’s also being reported that McCall chased Marcille around the house.

McCall has recently denied any allegations via Twitter, saying:

It seems Eva was denying the incident as well, a short four days after she had the restraining order placed on him, she was all smiles on Instagram with him and their daughter, with the hashtag #FamilyFirst. That’s certainly not the 100 ft. of space the restraining order required between the two torn lovers.
We’ve seen this behavior before. A restraining order is only a piece of paper and can’t truly keep people away from one another, especially when the one who asked for the order chooses to invite the aggressor back into their lives as if the incident that made them want the order in the first place never happened

“I want to be the kind of person that kind people like and want to be like.”- Jarod Kintz. This quote reminds me of Coach Starks. I was a freshman entering a point of my life that was unfamiliar and unsure when I hit the steps of Tennessee State University. Like many others this time of our life's was the best ,molding us to the adults we are on today. A year ago I heard of a movie that was made of our very own Catana Starks. She was once my health teacher at TSU a  few times teaching me  a lot about classes and golf. So when I saw the official trailer of the movie I  was thrilled. First, because I know her, but most of all due to her  amazing story. As alumni from Tennessee State University which is HBCU it is important people know the history and heritage all HBCU's carry. We are so much more than the best bands, pretty girls and the best parties that was thrown by our Greek organizations . We are more than the bad media publicity, Tennessee State has produced  Oprah Winfrey, Wilma Rudolph, Brent Alexander, Ralph Boston, Harvey Johnson, Jr., Samuel G. Puryear, Leon Thomas, list of reality stars, Alvin Williams, Edith McGuire, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, MORE?! We are Kings and Queens going out into the world making a name for ourselves. So when the title was mentioned to me I love it immediately . The name of the movie is called " From the Rough".

From the Rough is a sports drama film based on the true story of Catana Starks, a former Tennessee State Tigers swim coach, who became the first woman ever to coach a college men’s golf team. With drive, passion, and guts, she took an unruly group of mismatched kids from around the world and guided them to an all-time record at the PGA National Collegiate Minority Championship.
Tasked with building Tennessee State’s first golf team and finding only one available African American golfer – Craig, a former caddy with plenty of talent but no confidence – Catana Starks pushes outside TSU’s Historically Black context, and, against huge resistance, opens up the roster to underprivileged kids from around the world. The film stars Taraji P. Henson as Coach Starks, as well as Tom Felton, Michael Clarke Duncan and LeToya Luckett. The film was co-written by Michael A. Critelli and Pierre Bagley and directed by Bagley.

Depresssion : A weapon in our community

By : Denise Young. ED.S/ ST

Depression.... When you see that word what do you think of? For me I think about a lot of words and things and people. On the lower end of the scale, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) reported in 2008 that 17 million American adults are diagnosed annually with depression. On the higher end, according to 2008 estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 21 million Americans are diagnosed with depression each year. These individuals have either been diagnosed with major depression or dysthymia, the former interfering with work and once-pleasant experiences, and the latter persisting for at least two years but with symptoms that are not as disabling as major depression.
Depression is something everyone experience at least once in a lifetime. Now the way your body handles it and your mind conceives it is different. My goal is to decrease negative thoughts and take back our mind, and body's and get healthy.

Some people gain weight when they're depressed. Others lose weight, to an unhealthy degree
Which comes first? And how can you untangle the link between depression and weight -- especially if depression has sapped you of your energy to make changes? Here's what experts say you need to know.

Which comes first? And how can you untangle the link between depression and weight -- especially if depression has sapped you of your energy to make changes? Here's what experts say you need to know.

Depression and Weight Gain

A March 2010 review of 15 studies, published in the Archives of General Psychiatry, linked obesity to a greater risk of developing depression - and vice versa.
But do people gain weight because they are depressed? Or do they become depressed because of the excess pounds they are carrying? No one knows.

Risk Factors

  • According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, women are twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with depression in any given year. The CDC also reports that adults in the 40- to 59-year-old range, African Americans, and economically disadvantaged individuals are more likely to be diagnosed with depression.

Severity

  • As the diagnoses of major depression and dysthymia indicate, there are various levels of depression. On an annual basis, 80 percent of those diagnosed have depression severe enough to interfere with the way they function at home or at work, while nearly 30 percent of those diagnosed have depression so severe that it warrants professional help. Less than half of those diagnosed with major depression actually seek help, according to the CDC.

Suicide

  • According to the Journal of Employee Assistance, 90 percent of those who are diagnosed with depression worldwide go on to try to commit or succeed in committing suicide. Depression is the number one contributor to suicide. Most of those who eventually commit suicide are men; men are only half as likely to seek treatment for the disease as are women.

In conclusion, trouble do not last forever, their are professionals in your city or town will help. Please get help today, you are not along. If you having any questions you can email me at deniseyounglifeskillscoach@gmail.com

Beyonce on the TIME 100 Cover: See Her 'Pretty Hurts' Music Video

Beyoncé is on the cover of the TIME 100 issue.

The pop superstar headlines the magazine's annual look at the most influential people in the world, a group that also includes
Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus and Hillary Clinton.

Inside the issue, Lean In author Sheryl Sandberg praises Bey's otherworldly work ethic and ambition: "Beyoncé doesn't just sit at the table. She builds a better one."

To celebrate the occasion, Beyoncé released her
"Pretty Hurts" music video to the Web for the first time. The ballad, which had previously only been available on Beyoncé's groundbreaking "visual album," finds Bey critiquing what she sees as a bankrupt beauty culture, and features a cameo from Harvey Keitel.

NeNe Leakes - WIth Tony Dovolani on Arsenio Hall

By: Denise Young

I love Nene and I do not care what other people say. It is amazing the comments that I see that people make about stars and give their opinions. I feel that giving a opinion is ok but when it is mean and nasty I do not like. If I do not like you nor do not agree with you I do not support you. Simple as that.
Seeing her on Arsenio Hall Show it was fun. They really had a good time and I enjoyed watching it. One of the questions that I love that he asked was about Nene covering Porsha's mouth during the infamous fight on  reunion show. Nene said " I am a mom and I did not want her to incriminate herself." I think that was real and a friend. Nene states that she is Team Porsha. I agree... Great interview. Check it out for yourself.
