Born Jada Koren Pinkett-Smith on September 18, 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland, this cool Hollywood actress majored in theatre at the Baltimore School for the Arts, where she met and became friends with Tupac Shakur until his death in 1996. Jada Pinkett-Smith also attended the North Carolina School of the Arts, but soon dropped out to pursue an acting career.

In 1991, Jada Pinkett-Smith had her big break when she received a role in the NBC sitcom, “A Different World”. Two years later, she made her feature debut in the 1993 film, Menace II Society. Although she received a couple of on-screen gigs including “Demon Knight”, “Jason’s Lyric” and “The Inkwell”, she did not gain instant and widespread recognition until she played alongside Eddie Murphy in the 1996 remake of “The Nutty Professor”.

In 2001, Jada Pinkett-Smith appeared with her husband Will Smith in the critically acclaimed film, “Ali”, playing the first wife of Cassis Clay. However, Jada won the hearts of all ages worldwide when she starred as the kickass commander Niobe in the Matrix series. Her latest role was in the 2007 film “Reign Over Me” costarring Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler. She is set to appear in the 2008 movie, “The Women” and lend her voice again in the second part of the animated movie Madagascar, “Madagascar 2 The Lost Island”.

Aside from acting, Jada Pinkett-Smith is active in music production – being a director of music videos and a vocalist for the nu metal band, Wicked Wisdom. Her band released a self-titled album on February 21, 2006, toured Ozzfest in 2005, and played at the Download Festival in the United Kingdom. Jada Pinkett-Smith also has her own line of women’s dresses and shirts called “Maja”.

In December 31, 1997, Jada married actor-rapper Will Smith. This sexy Hollywood actress is mother to a son Jaden Christopher Syre Smith (born on July 8, 1998) and daughter Willow Camille Reign Smith (born on October 31, 2000).

Jada Pinkett-Smith founded the Will and Jada Foundation that gives donations to youth education projects and helps deprived children. In 2006, Jada Pinkett-Smith also donated $1 million to her alma mater, the Baltimore School for the Arts, in memory of her friend Tupac Shakur.
