SBD Editor's pick : 2013 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Report Card

Rihanna
Grade: A

Rihanna made quite a statement in a custom-made red Alaia gown that despite its high neckline still had enough sheer paneling to let her flaunt her sexy side. The “Diamonds” singer said the showstopper was her first choice, explaining, “I like the A-line.”

Beyoncé
Grade: D+

Even though this black-and-white Osman jumpsuit is sort of conservative for BeyoncĂ© (and the Grammys!), we can't deny that she looks simply stunning. The 31-year-old singer accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, a Swarovski clutch, and a sleek long ponytail.  I like this for the office not for the Grammy's I love her!

Jennifer Lopez
Grade: C

Jennifer Lopez tried to skirt around this year's Grammy dress code by covering up on top and showing a whole lotta leg — take that, Angelina Jolie! — in her Anthony Vaccarello dress, which she paired with gold-accented heels, a cuff bracelet, and a slicked-back top knot. While it's not quite as racy as the infamous green Versace gown she wore at the 2000 Grammys, it's pretty close! We love her but what was she thinking. Well, Jennifer is still a beauty in my book!

Taylor Swift
Grade: A

Multiple-nominee Taylor Swift was a goddess in a Grecian gown by J. Mendel featuring silver accents, which she perfectly complemented with an elegant braided updo. Do you think she was the best dressed star of the night?

Natasha Bedingfield
Grade: A-

The other best red dress of the night went to “Unwritten” singer Natasha Bedingfield, who wowed in a lacy Emerson number with side cut-outs and a gold belt

Kathy Griffin
Grade: A-

Kathy Griffin stepped out in a dazzling sequined Oscar de la Renta gown and sleek long locks. The 52-year-old funny lady is looking good!

 Solange Knowles
Grade: B+

While her sister went for a basic black-and-white pantsuit, Solange Knowles added a pop of color in an emerald green gown with exaggerated shoulders, which she paired with neon orange (and studded!) heels. Which Knowles sister do you think looked better at the Grammys?

Katy Perry
Grade: F

Katy Perry apparently didn’t get the Grammy dress code memo … because the Best Pop Solo-nominated singer let it all hang out in a mint green Gucci creation with a keyhole cut-out that revealed just way too much cleavage – even if it was nicely framed with gold-and-teal embellishments. Perry, who did not hit the red carpet with boyfriend John Mayer, revealed that her ‘60s style ensemble (including her big hair). I love the color on her in way but overall this would be a no.....

Carrie Underwood
Grade: A-

Sticking with the trendy designer of the evening, Roberto Cavalli, Carrie Underwood's elegant black strapless gown was demure, but her 381-carat diamond necklace certainly wasn't!

Kelly Rowland
Grade: B+

Beyonce who? Kelly Rowland, fresh off her Super Bowl performance with her former Destiny’s Child members, rocked a Georges Chakra Couture mermaid-style gown with geometric mesh panels … in all the right places.

Overall, I would say the the fashion was not all that exciting and I was a little disappointed in the dresses this year. Please follow us on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Southern-Belle-Dish/193416267349352
