According to a recent poll by Rent.com and CNBC, single men have some peculiar tastes in residences.
So we went out and found five stunning properties in the top five cities for bachelors. We start our search in #5 Miami, where this 4,200-square-foot Miami Beach spread enjoys views of the skyline and a 2,400-square-foot wraparound terrace with outdoor kitchen, fit for any bachelor with $8 million to spend. For instance, 96 percent claimed that a spacious kitchen was not high on the wish list, while almost 70 percent cited the desire for a staffed building. Well that sounded all well and good—after all, takeout is a single guy staple—but according to our own informal polling, bachelors just want a place that will impress.

Next up is #4 NYC, a city with almost a million more single women than men.
One such man is David Wright, the Mets slugger, who is currently trying to unload his perfect downtown bachelor pad after a move uptown into a $12,000-per-month luxury rental. For $7.85M, the next buyer takes over a killer double-height game room, enclosed hot tub, expansive roof deck, and a very manly small kitchen.

Down in #3 San Antonio, Texas, where it seems everyone and their mother should be clad in cowboy wear, sometimes it pays to run against the grain.
Take this penthouse, set atop an 80-year-old former candy factory has the feel of an NYC artist's loft. With gallery-like spaces, an immense screening room, and not a stick of raw wood to be found, this is a carpetbagger's paradise at $4M.

Asking price: $8.9 million

It is well known as the "Second City," so perhaps it's no wonder that Chicago finished #2 in the best cities for bachelors rankings.
This massive penthouse close to downtown would impress even the most jaded lass, with 5,500 square feet, 1,000 square feet of terraces, four additional balconies, up-close-and-personal views of the Chicago skyline, two fireplaces, a 1,500-bottle wine cave, and even a custom-made putting green in the sky. No wonder it is one of Chicago's most expensive listings at $8.9M.

#1 Houston, Texas might come as a surprise first choice, but the city of 2.1 million was picked for its combination of affordability and "great date spots."
Well, whoever decided Houston was affordable didn't take a look at this $4.5M triplex penthouse. Measuring more than 7,000 square feet, the apartment needs a decor update stat—hey, that's never stopped a man cave in the past—but the rooftop pool and accompanying 2,300-square-foot deck might indeed be the best date spot in Houston.
