Britney,Britney! All About Miss Britney Spears!
Britney Spears as been a star in the music world for awhile and tonight the show "Glee" is paying respect to her music career by singing some of her songs! So we wanted to give you pics from the past of our pop star Britney Spears!
For her memorable appearance at the 2003 VMAs, Britney wore an updated version of Madonna's wedding dress from her iconic 1984 performance of "Like a Virgin" for an on-stage kiss with the original "Material Girl." The duo -- who were joined by Christina Aguilera -- shocked the crowd, and Brit's outfit was the last thing people were talking about.
At the 2002 VMAs, the Louisiana native was back to her more attention-grabbing getups, donning a seriously mini leather dress with equally edgy accessories on the red carpet as she presented King of Pop Michael Jackson with a birthday cake.
Fans who hadn't gotten the message about Britney's new, more grown-up style earlier surely did as the pop tart donned an elaborate, embellished bikini as she gyrated with a giant snake during her VMAs performance of "I'm a Slave 4 U."
Still months away from releasing her song "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman," Britney's Dolce & Gabbana LBD made entirely of lace (and covering black undergarments) made it clear she wanted to be seen as an adult when she stepped out for the 2001 MTV VMAs.
Flying solo at the 2001 Teen Choice Awards, the 19-year-old once again opted for denim, this time mixed with a pink blouse and countless buttons. What was she thinking?!
The "(You Drive Me) Crazy" crooner and her then-boy band beau Justin Timberlake were a denim disaster at the 2001 American Music Awards. Although both ensembles were terrible, Britney's tacky frock was slightly less hideous than JT's hat and over-sized jacket. Score one for Britney!
The metamorphosis from cute teenybopper to full-fledged hottie was complete when Britney ripped off a black hat and suit to bare her bod in a sequined, flesh-colored costume at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
A month later, in February 2000, the pop princess looked like a trophy wife in jewels and a (faux?) fur stole as she lost out to Christina Aguilera for the Best New Artist honor at the Grammy Awards.
By 2000, though, the "Oops!... I Did It Again" songstress began to rebel against her bubblegum image with ensembles like this revealing gray jumpsuit that she modeled on the red carpet at the American Music Awards.
Brit, is that you? The teen queen was fully covered -- she even wore specs! -- to Arthur Ashe Kids' Day at the 1999 US Open.
When we met Britney back in 1998 with the song "...Baby One More Time," she was a 17-year-old with a scandalous habit of (gasp!) showing her belly button. Despite the bare midriff, the southern girl projected a sweet yet sexy image with the pigtails and pink wardrobe she donned on her first headlining tour in 1999.
