Amber Rose Channels Late-'90s Rose McGowan at VMAs
Until now, Rose McGowan has been the reigning queen of the (admittedly uncontested) naked-save-a-few-strategically-placed-chains department at the annual Video Music Awards.
What? You say you never heard of this particular fashion statement? The actress debuted this look all the way back in 1998, when she paraded her assets barely covered with chainmail on the red carpet with then-beau, shock-rocker Marilyn Manson.
At the time it drew quite a bit of attention and raised more than a few eyebrows; it hasn't been repeated to date — understandably, as it's kind of a difficult fashion statement to pull off. However, it seems there's a new contenter for the title.
Model/actress Amber Rose, a.k.a. Wiz Khalifa’s better half, channeled this, er, classic look Sunday evening at the 2014 VMAs. However, Rose (perhaps deferring to her fairly new role as mom to 1-year-old son Sebastian) did put her own slightly demure twist on the outfit. Whereas McGowan's outfit featured a thong — and therefore all of her derriere — Rose chose to give her own behind a bit more coverage in between the chains.
